The fall has been as busy as expected and we are not done yet! Our recent training held at the Swinomish Police Department was a success, and we were pleased to welcome attendees from 10 different police agencies. The subject of the one day class was bloodstain pattern analysis with a focus on proper documentation and using BPA to choose probative DNA samples. Thanks to the Anacortes PD for getting the ball rolling with setting up the class and to the Swinomish PD for hosting.
Unfortunately, Hurricane Sandy prevented Karen from travelling to Philadelphia to speak at the 2nd annual Forensic Forum at Arcadia University. She is very disappointed and hopes to participate next year. She will head to Mexico on Saturday where the lab continues to make progress towards ISO 17025 accreditation.
